WALWORTH – The Cardinals boys’ basketball team continued to impress, defeating Big Foot Tuesday night in convincing fashion, 82-67.

The Cardinals (3-1 overall, 1-1 Rock Valley Conference) hit 10 three-pointers, including six from Sophomore Parker Johnson.

Johnson had a team high 23 points. He was joined in double figures with Ned Slocum who had 21 points, Justice Tway with 14, and Brekan Day with 11.

Jake Pickel netted 7 points of his own, while Tyler Flannery finished with 4 and Tyler Urness had 2.

The Cardinals held a tight 42-38 halftime lead, but were able to extend in the second half.

Brodhead coach, Nick Jarvis, was satisfied overall with his team’s effort.  “We defended well and were able to get out in transition,” Jarvis said.  “Big Foot is a nice team, and it will be a tough test when we get them at home.

“We have a tough stretch ahead, but hope to continue to play together, and keep getting better.”

The game scheduled for Friday, Dec. 11, at East Troy has been moved to Dec. 22.

The Cardinals will be in action next at home against McFarland tomorrow night, Thursday, Dec. 17.
