Lady Cardinals fall to East Troy

The East Troy Trojans pulled away in the final innings to beat the Cardinals (1-2 overall, 0-1 Rock Valley) 9-3 in a Rock Valley crossover contest last Tuesday.

East Troy mounted a scoring threat in the bottom of the first. Lead off hitter Kaitlyn O’Connell smoked a double to the centerfield fence. Maria Longstreet then had a productive out as she moved O’Connell to third with a ground out to shortstop. Junior Azzy Steiner delivered a nasty drop ball to strikeout three-hole hitter Sophia Heimos. Steiner then retired Erin Rice on a ground out to escape the jam.
