Lady Cards capture State Championship. Brodhead team has historic postseason run

The Brodhead Cardinals have been to the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association State Softball Tournament just twice in program history. Both times, the Cards have brought the gold trophy home, as Brodhead added to their hardware collection, last weekend.

2004 was the first time the Cardinals had reached the state tournament. In 2023, nearly twenty years later, the Cards added another gold trophy, and did so in historic fashion. Through six postseason games, the Cards didn’t allow a single run to their opponents. In all six games, Brodhead outscored their opponent 37-0.
