Brodhead- Laurie R (Menehan) (Haas) Lauren, age 63, passed away at Meriter Hospital on February 5, 2025. She was born in Monroe on May 6, 1961, to Darwin Menehan and Deanne (Kammerude) Menehan.
Laurie graduated from Monroe High School in 1979. She worked as a CNA and transporter for Pleasant View Nursing Home for 20+ years. Laurie or “Punk” was loved by so many people. She took a lot of pride in taking care of people and was very grateful for all who helped care for her. Laurie enjoyed playing pool, spending time with family and friends, going out to the local establishments to socialize and traveling in her younger years. She loved being a self-proclaimed diva and will be deeply missed.
Laurie is survived by her two sons: Brad Haas and James Lauren, Mother; Deanne Smukowski, grandchildren; Remington, Hunter, Benelli Haas and Blake Lauren. Brothers; Chuck (Sandy), Troy (Robin Gagliano) and Scott (Kathy) Menehan, sister; Belinda (Todd Gibson) Curless, stepmother; Sharon Curless, stepfather; Gordon Smukowski, Aunt; Terri (Rick) Carlson, Uncles; Tom (Katherine) Kammerude and Leo Gross, along with many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Laurie is preceded in death by her father; Dar, Aunts; Donna Bechtolt and Betty Gross, Uncle; Nate Bechtolt, maternal and paternal grandparents.
A visitation will be held at D.L. Newcomer Funeral Home, 1105 E 9th Ave, Brodhead, WI 53520 on Monday, February 17,2025, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for the grandchildren’s college fund.
