Leifker reaches 1,000 points in Cardinal victory.

Cardinals senior Owen Leifker, scored 18 points Dec. 29 during a game against Deerfield to bypass the-1,000 point milestone. Leifker came into the contest needing 10 points to reach the mark. Coach, Tommy Meier (left) who said the achievement was “impressive,” presented Leifker with a commemorative ball honoring the feat.

After beginning the 2021-22 season on a five-game winning streak, the Brodhead boys’ varsity basketball squad hit a rough patch.

It was something Brodhead Head Coach Tommy Meier was well aware could happen.

Before the team hit the road for three consecutive away games, Meier admitted it would be a tough stretch against some good teams.
