LEONARD “LEN” A. WALMER

Leonard “Len” A. Walmer, age 92 of Brodhead died Wednesday March 12, 2025 at SSM Hopice Home in Monroe. He was born on September 5, 1932 in Pecatonica, Il, the son of Harland and Florence (Denekas) Walmer. He graduated from Brodhead High School in 1949. Len farmed his entire life, both raising Dairy cows and Hogs, he retired in 1977. He married Bonnie Nolty in 1949 in Dubuque, IA; he later married Linda Flesher in 1974 in Brodhead, she passed away in 2011. Len was a member of United Methodist Church of Brodhead; he enjoyed welding and metal fabricating.

He is survived by his children: Roger (Kenlyn) Walmer of Willis, TX, Carol (Dennis) Thompson of Janesville, Fred Walmer of Janesville, Kathy (Dennis) Goecks of Juda, Raymond Walmer of Juda and Marcia Walmer of Tinley Park, IL; step-children: Russell Howard of Wisconsin Rapids and Roger Howard of Marathon, WI; 10 Grandchildren; many Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren. Sister, Bonnie Jean Bauer of Milwaukee. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, Rowland; sister, Merna Jenson; and daughter-in-law, Julie Walmer.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 am on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Brodhead United Methodist Church with Pastor Francois Makosa officiating. A visitation will be held Thursday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Albany. Everson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
