Local student wins Optimist Club essay contest

Noah Martinez-Bochman, a senior at Brodhead High School, recently won the Brodhead Optimist Club’s essay contest based on a theme of “Who is an Everyday Hero that Brings Out the Optimism in You?”

Noah was awarded $125 for the honor.In addition, the essay will be sent to the district level to be judged along with winners from other Optimist Clubs in the district. College scholarships are available in the amounts of $2,500 to $1,000 for the top winners at the district level.
