Music in our Schools. Directing couple’s ‘band family’ extends beyond the home

For Music in our Schools Month, the Brodhead Music Boosters is spotlighting the teachers who bring sweet sounds into the classroom.

Husband and wife duo- Jason and Beth Riesterer lead the high school and middle school bands, respectively, heading these programs and developing the skills students need to perform, including their kids Brynn and Brant.

Brynn, an eighth grader, plays French horn and trumpet, while fifth-grader Brant plays percussion and baritone within the Brodhead Band program.

“Music is a huge part of our lives,” Beth said. “We love spending time together, watching our kids participate in sports and we really enjoy traveling.”
