Music in our schools – Jason Riesterer

This is my 14th year at Brodhead, 19th year overall. My main role is with the high school band and its many functions, and then I also team teach with Beth with our fifth graders. I also help out in middle school band rehearsals whenever possible.

We have so many special occasions throughout the year; some of my favorites are: Fall Marching Band Concert, Alumni Pep Band, Solo and Ensemble, Development of Bands concert, and our final spring concert.

From my first day of fifth-grade band, I have always loved every second I have been involved with a band. Being in different groups has taught me many valuable life lessons (hard work, team spirit, being goal oriented). I have had so many wonderful experiences in band, been to some pretty awesome places, played along with some pretty amazing musicians, and have been able to work with some really amazing students.
