Obituary for Barbara Gretschmann

BARBARA GRETSCHMANN

   Barbara Marilyn Gretschmann entered her heavenly home with her lord and savior Jesus Christ on July 15, 2023, surrounded by loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

   She was born on July 29, 1933, to Ralph and Dora (Magill) Busjahn. She was the eldest of siblings, David, and Shirley. Barb married Duane on Aug. 8, 1959, at People’s Church in Beloit. Barb and Duane were a true example of love and devotion. She was very involved in the church’s music program and radio broadcast and sang for many weddings and funerals.

   Barb was employed as a secretary in Clinton School System from 1977 to 1997, was a Sunday School teacher for many years, and volunteered with Clinton Meals on Wheels.

   Barb is survived by husband, Duane; children, Tim (Susana), Julie Krause, Karen (Todd) Hoffman, Tom (Kim) and Scott (Julie). She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

   She was predeceased by her parents, siblings, and son-in-law Mike.

   Barb’s funeral service was July 22 at Faith Community Church, 2931 Lucerne Drive, Janesville. A private burial will be held at a later date.

   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society.
