Mark Thor Hofstrom, 63, of Rockton, Illinois, died Oct. 28, 2022 in Shopiere.

He was born Oct. 9, 1959, to Juanita (Larson) Hofstrom and the late Norman Thor Hofstrom in Beloit. Mark graduated from Clinton High School, class of 1978, where he played football and participated in the band.

He was employed by Axium Foods in South Beloit as a logistics manager. Mark was a problem solver, a mechanically adept and dependable worker. He always looked for solutions to assist the business whether it was the optimum route to achieve just-in-time delivery or the most efficient way to produce products. Mark saw the big picture how all the parts of the business were connected. This gave him insight to provide constructive recommendations. Mark’s time on the farm in his youth gave him a strong work ethic and helped him develop his problem-solving skills.

Mark was a talented musician and singer; he performed in many different bands, two being Roaring Thunder and Kranker. In his later years, he received accolades for his karaoke performances in local establishments. Mark could find a song appropriate for every occasion and he possessed the stage presence and showmanship that would capture an audience.
