Putnum Park Bridge nearing completion, donations sought

A portion of Brodhead’s signature bridge gets delivered to Putnum Park. Planners hope to have the be-loved bridge cover in place in time for the Family Fun Fest June 25.

Brodhead’s signature bridge across the Mill Race in Putnam Park is nearing completion, with a cover to be installed for sheltering its users.

According to organizers, due to limited funds, the roof would be shingled rather than the originally-planned, longer-lasting metal roof.

Recently, however, several generous, local donors emerged to make it possible to revert to the original metal roof plan.
