Rock County Sheriff Welcomes Three New Deputies
Sheriff Robert Spoden is pleased to announce the Dec. 16, graduation of three Deputy Sheriffs from the Law Enforcement Academy at Blackhawk Technical College. These new Deputies began field training on Dec. 19.
Jaimie Marton was born in Beloit, Wis. and graduated from Janesville Parker High School in 2004. After high school, Jaimie attended UW-Whitewater, where he played football and graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Sociology. On Jan. 6, 2016, Jaimie was hired with the Rock County Sheriff’s Office and served as a Correctional Officer in the Rock County Jail. Jaimie was hired as a Deputy Sheriff with the Rock County Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 7, 2016.
Margaret Schmidt was born in Mesa, Ariz. and raised in Edgerton, Wis., where she attended Edgerton High School and graduated in 2011. After high school, she attended the University of Dubuque, where she played volleyball, basketball, and softball and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology in 2015. After college, she was hired as a Correctional Officer by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. Margaret was hired as a Deputy Sheriff with the Rock County Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 8.
Gary Huber was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Ind. and graduated from Homestead High School in 2006. After high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps serving in the Infantry.
He completed one tour of duty in Iraq in 2007, earning a Purple Heart, among several other military commendations. After serving in the Marine Corps, Gary attended Indiana Wesleyan University where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. Gary was hired as a Deputy Sheriff with the Rock County Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 9.
