Sandra Franks, 66

JANESVILLE – Sandra K. Franks, 66, of Janesville, passed away at her home on Thursday,
April 30, 2015 surrounded by her family.

Sandra was born in Janesville, to the late Westly and Jean (Trescher) Stockman on Jan. 26, 1949. She
graduated from Milton High School in the class of 1967. On March 14, 1992, Sandra married Merle Franks.

Sandra worked for 19 years at the Burdick Corporation and 16 years at The Data Shop doing data entry. She was originally a member of Faith United Methodist Church and then the Community
Baptist Church before joining Roxbury Church of Christ. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, square dancing with the Milton Squares, a member of the Faith Singers and reading. She especially loved traveling with Merle, including their mission trip to Brazil.

Sandra is survived by her loving husband, Merle Franks of Janesville; Merle’s children that Sandra loved as her own: Peter Franks of Janesville, Marcus Franks of Milton, Michelle (Patrick) Cole of Janesville, Tina (Nick) Fischer of Janesville; brothers: Gary (Grace) Stockman of Milton, Ron (Terri) Stockman of Peachtree City, Ga.; sisters: Nancy (Mike) Mair of Platteville, Cindy Stockman of Milton; two sisters-in-law: Alice (Lynne) Franks-Gray of Brodhead, Janet Franks of Brodhead; 14 grandchildren and
two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers-in-law: Charles W. Franks and Hubert Leroy Franks.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at the Roxbury Church of Christ, Janesville. Burial followed at Milton Junction Cemetery.  The Albrecht Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Milton, served the family. Memorials can be made in Sandra’s name to the Rock County Cancer Coalition, the Roxbury Church of Christ, or Mercy Hospice Care.
