Brodhead Middle Schools collectively collected, boxed and delivered hundreds of items for the Afghan refugees temporarily living at Fort McCoy. The supply drive was coordinated by Brodhead grad Harper Sage, who had been enlisted at Fort McCoy, and middle school teacher Stephanie Tresemer, who advises the school’s leadership club TOOL.

After a two-week supply drive to benefit the thousands of Afghan refugees temporarily housed at Fort McCoy, Brodhead Middle School students got word that donations they recently collected were distributed among those in need.

Wisconsin National Guardswoman Sage Harper, who graduated from Brodhead High School in 2018, was on duty at Fort McCoy near Sparta, where more than 10,000 refugees are awaiting settlement.

She reached out last month to the middle school teacher Stephanie Tresemer, who advises TOOL (Team of Outstanding Leaders) students, to see if she could count on her hometown to lend a hand.
