Sheriff’s Dept. Welcomes New Canine Officers, Handlers
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office would like to introduce two new patrol canines and handlers.
Deputy Shawn Nolan, who just recently retired DEX, is taking on his second canine, MAX. MAX is a 65 lb. Belgian Malinois that is trained as a dual purpose dog.
Deputy Tara Nolan is a new handler that has trained GUNNY. GUNNY is a 70 lb. German Shepherd, and is also trained as a dual purpose dog.
Deputies Shawn and Tara Nolan are brother and sister. Shawn is a Senior Deputy who brings unparalleled experience and knowledge of the working dog and Tara is passionate about this opportunity. Both Deputies deserved this opportunity to serve with the new canines.
Badger Vet has donated services to care for MAX. Janesville Animal Medical Center has donated their services for GUNNY. J’s Feeds in Orfordville will be donating Loyall dog food, which is made by Nutrena, for the life of each dog.
We will have a public event scheduled for Jan. 5 at 10 a.m. at the Sheriff’s Office. News agencies and the public are encouraged to attend.
