When he retires today, Leonard Lueck — Lenny, as he’s more commonly known — will have put in eight years as Brodhead’s school superintendent, and a total of 16 years in the Brodhead School District, where he also served as Brodhead High School’s principal. Lueck’s wife, Tracy, an administrative assistant in the school district, also will retire this year.

All told, Lueck has spent more than 25 years in education, including teaching high-needs students. He’s taught reading and social studies to middle school students and even coached football and basketball.
