Supervisory District 19 seat still unfilled

It will likely be May 10 before Brodhead Wards 3 and 4 residents know who will serve them for two years on Green County Board of Supervisors.
No one among 559 voters in that part of the city registered as a candidate for the District 19 seat on the county board. That left the election open to write-in votes.
There were 163 people who voted in Wards 3 and 4 in the April 5 spring election. Court of Appeals Judge Brian Blanchard, whose name was on the ballot, received that many votes in those wards. One additional write-in vote had to be recorded as “scattering,” not eligible to serve.
