EVANSVILLE — Terry Phillip Barnard, 64, passed away at home in the early morning hours on May 7, 2016, after a ten-month battle with colon cancer.

He was born on Sept. 9, 1951, in Rockford, Ill., the son of Lee J.R. Barnard and Wanda Lavern (Jones) Barnard.

He graduated from Evansville High School in the Class of 1969. He served in the United States Army from February 1971 to February 1973 and was stationed in Germany. Terry worked for Stoughton Trailers and most recently at Kuhn Manufacturing in Brodhead. He was an avid fisherman and friend to many, always willing to help others.

He is survived by his significant other, Wanda King of Evansville; a daughter, Jenny Edge of Beloit; a granddaughter, Mariah; a sister, Sandy (Randy) Baertschi of Footville; brothers, Ronald Barnard of Evansville, Greg (Lori) Barnard and their children, Tammi Marshall, Greg Jr. (Marissa) Barnard, Robert (Cache) Barnard; nephews, Bill (Kristin) Beartschi and their children, Colton and Elizabeth, and Tom (Lori) Baertschi; a niece, Stacy Baertschi; and Wanda’s children, Dewayne Harnack, Angie Harnack, and Mike King.

A celebration of life will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 4 at Ward-Hurtley Funeral Home in Evansville.
