Brodhead, WI – Virginia Benton, age 95, was born on August 16th 1928 in Shopiere, WI the daughter of Fritchof and Loutas (Warn) Swenson. Virginia peacefully passed away at the Evansville Manor in Evansville, WI on July 4, 2024. Virginia married Ellis Benton on the 28th of November in 1947 and they were married for 61+ years.  Ellis and Virginia enjoyed farm life for most of their married years.  Virginia belonged to the Avon Homemakers Club where many recipes, crocheting and knitting ideas were exchanged. Virginia also belonged to the Brodhead Sports Boosters for many years.  Family and friends were very important to Virginia. She enjoyed the company of others at dances, while camping, fishing and playing various card games. Virginia worked for Roderrick/Condon Lumber Company for many years.  She could be found behind the counter doing bookwork or helping customers at the front desk. The Good Sam Club provided Virginia and Ellis the opportunity to travel  together seeing many new places and meeting new friends along the way.  Virginia and Ellis eventually moved to Arizona where they spent about 10 years before moving back to Brodhead.
Virginia is survived by son Fritz Benton; son Rodney (Glenda) Benton; daughter Linda (Willie) Parrish; her grandkids ReNee Benton; Nessa (Chuck Smythe); Almon (Amanda) Benton; Rusty (Julie) Visger; Shani (Dave) Browning; Adam (Carrie) Benton; Jason (DeeDee) Benton; Rob (Alissa) Benton; Donald Parrish and Vicki (Aaron) Wilks, 20 great grandkids, 11 great great grandkids, and sister, Gloria Klemm.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; husband Ellis; son Gerald, and daughter in law Karen – wife of her son, Fritz Benton.
Cremation rites will accorded with burial of her cremated remains at the Avon Township Cemetery  August 16, 2024 at 1:00 P.M.
