Voters will see another city referendum on April ballot. Nonbinding, advisory vote will guide officials in administrator hire

The City of Brodhead Common Council last week approved moving forward with a nonbinding, advisory referendum question for the April 5 ballot, asking voters whether the city should hire an administrator with an increase in taxes.
Noting the benefits of hiring a professional to oversee city business and to navigate economic development, officials have considered the role for more than a decade, going back to when the city approved its 2010 comprehensive plan and the potential for a city administrator was mentioned, according to City Clerk Nikolai Wahl.
