What is the tax impact of the school district referendum?
By David Novy, Superintendent, Brodhead School District
The School Board is very much aware of the tough economic conditions facing families in our community and has timed and structured the referendum to limit the tax impact on our community.
Board members have the unenviable challenge of maintaining a strong, balanced educational program for our children, while still being sensitive to the needs of the taxpayers.
This upcoming referendum is being presented only after years of hard work in reducing expenses and reviewing options to balance the budget without a referendum.
It is the Board’s belief that the community would not like to see opportunities lost for our children, or the effects that negative changes would have on our community.
