With summer fun comes summer hazards
“Safety, Safety, Safety” Are you enjoying the summer sun? Is it too hot for you yet? Have you gone inside to hibernate until winter? Don’t miss the great weather and even if it’s for only a few hours “get outside and enjoy,” but make sure you enjoy the outdoors safely.
Here are 10 tips for keeping kids (and adults, too!) safe this summer, courtesy of American Family Children’s Hospital. Block the sun, the sun’s intensity is at its peak during the summer, so it is more critical than ever to apply sunscreen before going outside. Not just on sunny days either; the sun’s rays can still damage your skin when it’s cloudy. Be sure to apply sunscreen (SPF 15 or higher) at least 20 minutes before going outdoors. Sometimes that we often forget when going outdoors is protection our eyes.
