Alderman Casey Jones will be the sole name to appear on the ballot under the city seats in the April 5 election, but a handful of registered write-in candidates have come forward for a chance to secure a seat on City Council.

Casey, who was appointed recently to fill a vacated seat of Council, wishes to succeed Mayor Troy Nyman who is not seeking re-election. No others filed candidacy papers for mayor, or the three aldermanic seats currently occupied by  Timothy Schadewaldt, Robert Moon and Jones, who are not seeking an additional term.

Alderman Thomas Simpson and newcomer Roni Anderson are running for mayor as registered write-in candidates.

Anderson is also running as a write-in for one of the three aldermanic seats up for election. Former alderman Paul Naramore and newcomers Benjamin Gritzmaker and Jill Baxter have also come forward as registered write-in candidates for alderperson at large.
